I was so delighted to share my journey to a rainbow baby recently on the Sisters in Loss podcast. Erica M. McAfee hosts the Sisters in Loss Podcast, a forum dedicated to sharing women’s journeys to motherhood who have faced some obstacles, challenges, and life just happened. I wanted to use my miscarriage story to show others that there is hope after multiple miscarriages.

I had a total of seven pregnancy losses before Gracyn came into this world. Many of my family and friends didn’t even know that I had recurrent miscarriages.

Every pregnancy caused me so much anxiety. And, after my first experience of announcing a baby and then taking the news back, I couldn’t bare to go through that again. I also thought that my grief would be a downer in my circle of friends. Or, sometimes I even felt judged because I wanted to try again.

However, it turns out internalizing all of the emotions that comes with grief and loss is not so good. I didn’t always like the person who I was. Counseling was a major factor in helping me cope with loss. I must say that I still have a long ways to go, but I desire to become even more comfortable about sharing my story.

So, be sure to take a listen to my miscarriage story. It may be hard to believe now, but I promise you there is hope after multiple miscarriages.

Peace and Blessings,

Shannon
